how do i keep my low beams on when i turn on my hi beams? i want them both on be on since my lows are xenon (converted) and i just want the highs to supplement them. 2002 ls v8

i am willing to rewire i just dont know where any of the relays are. do you know?

what people dont understand is you'll see less with both lights on. thats why the kits for the s10 and stuff are so worthless. If your highbeams are on, low beams go off, it takes the light off the ground, and throws it ahead of you. if the lows stay on and theres so much light on the ground, even wiht the high beams on you wont see that far ahead. it'll be brighter but you wont see as well as you would with the low beams off. and HID cars only keep the lowes on so you dont damage the lights by constantly turning them off and on when you use your highs.

Your wrong. All you have to do is install one of those "worthless kits" and you'll see that your wrong. You can still see just has far with highs and lows on vs just highs. I did the relay install kit and I can tell you it was a night and day difference when I used the highs on my chevy pickup, then I added KC daylighters and you can really see far :D Anyways if you want the lows to stay on with the highs, you can do it with a relay. Basically the relay acts like a switch so that you run a wire to from the "hot" wire on the highs this closes the contacts in the relay. The relay then provides battery power to the lows, so they stay on when the highs are on. You don't have to cut any wire if you use scotch lock connectors.

should i do this wiring right behind the headlights? i am guessing that that would be best since all the wires are right there. hopefully i dont get any computer issues once i do this mod.

I don't see any way you could do it at the lights. If you bridge the low and high wires the high's will be on all the time too. maybe if you put a diode in between it would work? not sure, haven't used diodes before. also, you may create too much current draw on the highbeam power supply. you're best messing w/the switch or relay....

ok just thought an easy way to do this under the hood would be to ADD a relay. High beam line is the "trigger" then outputs 12V to the low beams when the highs are on. only drawback is you may have a real quick flicker in the lows when you turn on the highs but I doubt it.

just noticed rebel covered this already. sorry.
