Headlight Switch

Well, found another headlight switch in the junkyard that looks and feels better than the one I currently have which is broke.

Unfortunatly I do not see an easy way to remove and replace this switch. It looks like you have to splice or sauder the connections back.

My switch is the pull switch with the 2 dimmer dials.

Any advice on how to replace?

You should have to remove the faux wood, and I think 3 screws. There's a connector in the rear - but it's a PITA. You do NOT have to cut/solder anything (I didn't have to on my 1987 Town Car) Just find the clip for the connector, gently pry up on it while pulling out and it should come right out.
 
You will have to remove the switch knob which is easy, there is a button on the switch that will release the whole knob and shaft.

I used an 87 switch in my 89 TC worked no problem and just plug and play.
