I have polished and polished the headlights on this Mark VII to no avail. Is there somewhere you can get some headlights that won't cost you an arm and a leg at. I haven't even looked at the Lincold dealership, I know they will cost more than I want to spend on them. Just trying to figure out the next step.

I have an '88.
You mean you can't polish out that yellowish tint?

I bought a bottle of some generic "headlamp lens polish" at the auto parts store. It had a very fine abrasive and required a whole lot of rubbing to get even a tiny spot clear.

So, I used that compound on a pad on my small power buffer. Tested a spot and seemed OK.
I guess a person could over do it and melt something..

There's no need for a more abrasive compound, and it's probably best not to make a cloud of scratches that would need to be polished out afterwards..

Anyway, even with the power buffer it took a bit of time.

No yellow tinge at all now. Headlamps at night were very noticeably brighter and made the work well worth it.

Yea I used polishing compound and the lens cleaning ones from the parts store. Put a buffer on the drill and went at it, they look pretty good now. Next step is the blinkers.........ugggggh

Got any BEFORE pictures for the doubters?

Our Mark VII lenses clean up nicely. With stock lamps or maybe SilverStars, they are awesome.

DAYUM!

Now THIS is why I suggest that EVERYONE take pictures NOW no matter WHAT you think your ride looks like!

Nice work!

Dude I've found out that when I used a bar of lava soap and hot water it was the equivalent of taking something close to a 1000 grit wet sandpaper and lightly sanding it, it removes the buildup of the composite lenses, worked on my dad's 93 subaru legacy, and it cleared right up! and for less than 2 bucks ! plus it is enough to polish right off easily.
