Engine and intake tube are needed.... BUT

make your own, or request from hite337, and wait for him to start making them again...
 
Hi G, I have the V8 with the two piece intake tube. I have emailed him and haven't heard back. I then saw a post that he was to busy to make them anymore. If I have to make one, is there a template or diagram of it? I thought I saw one quite awhile ago but can't seem to find it anymore. Thanks
 
Procedural template: Cardboard, marker, scissors, patience, checking, planning, checking, cutting, checking, folding, checking, hammering, checking, drilling, cutting, checking, cursing, redoing, checking, checking, accepting

$9 for an AC duct panel, $15 for some universal trunk weatherstripping, and about 3 hours of time on my part. I also made it twice because I messed up.

I made these heatshields for a few years and sold over 200. It got to the point where i was selling 1 or 2 a month and cost of supplies went up. I was making $5-10 per heatshield so it was not worth it to continue. I tried finding good weather stripping to use for cheaper but couldnt. I tried raising the price and people complained, like i was trying to get rich off a heatshield made for a dead car. Sorry i havent responded to every email or PM i received but life is busy and my familly and business come first. I had every intension to start making these again but i couldnt get the cost where i needed it. I never actually developed a heatshield a heatshield for the Insys intake, or the 2nd Gen. I tried to fab a shield and mail them to members to test fit. I kept getting "it fits after i modified it but i cant tell you what i cut where or how much". I wasted 10+ heatshields that way. Sorry for selling something and then discontinuing it...

You mean people realized they were getting a free heatshield with no legal requirement to hold up their end of the deal? Did they continue posting here after that? Or did they lurk in shame?

Hey hite337, That sucks from the response you got, I really like the heatshields you made and definately would have test fitted it for you. As I look at all the pictures on here I see what you mean by people trimming an modifying them. Oh well, Thanks an on to making my own.
 
...seriously though.. I have oil tycoons sniffing around my garage door wanting to drill...

i think we need to add some gasket maker and check around the oil filter base.... (or calibrate the torque wrench of yours)

Hite, just start making them again and sell them for 200 bucks each. If people don't want to buy them, they don't have to. If they really want them, they'll cough up. Easy enough, and you'll make your money back.

This is how I keep people from bugging me about doing car stuff for them, I tell them flat out they can't afford me, my hourly rate to work on someone's car is 200 bucks an hour in advance, I will bill them for time I spend thinking about it, when the money runs out the work stops and I don't guarantee the car will drive itself out of my garage when I'm done. So far no takers, and that's the way I want it.
 
G....now that Iran is selling oil on the global market you should be able to stock up on oil fairly cheap. Or just put a pan under the LS and collect the oil that leaks....then you can re-use it. Its called recycling, save the planet man. I still like the dynamite idea tho
 
I'll sell you my Hite heat shield for $150. I almost had Hite autograph it at a LS meet and now I wish I would have, the value might have increased by another $.50.

Rig up a dry-sump pump and be a pioneer in a hybrid wet and dry sump oiling system. Can pump the extra oil into the leaks in the valve covers.
 
Im just going to put a couple cans of stop leak into it and call it a day!!!
