My heater will not get hot at all. I crank that sucker to 90, and it still only cranks cool air. I'm not to concerned about it now, but in about five months, I will be concerned. Last spring I had the heater core replaced because I could smell and see coolant fumes coming through the vents. Was something not done correctly during the heater core replacement?

It could be clogged or the blend door actuator motor is bad (*note: not the same as blend door arm on gen II's) and is not opening or closing the door. It was bad on my 96 and only blew cold air, replacement part cost $63 including tax.

In replacing the blend door, do I have to take the dash off?

You have to move the right side of the dash outward. Follow most of the steps listed for the blend door repair on the net, only differences is that you have to remove the message center display. It is held on by 5 small screws, some removed through the message display hole, the others through the glove box door. I have the part in my garage, I will snap a pic of it later today.
