Hello everyone. My name is Rick, and I live in Jonesburg, MO. I just picked up an 89 Lincoln Town Car on Saturday evening. Tomorrow I should be driving it after it gets inspected and licensed (although it's leaking oil from somewhere, which I'll be looking into later). I've never had a Lincoln before, but I'm pretty impressed with it already. Even the clock next to the speedometer works!!! :D

Not sure what else to say. I'm 26 years old, married with 3 kids and one on the way. The kids are 6 yrs, 4 yrs, and 6 mo old (the baby is roughly 3 to 3-1/2 months along).

I'm also a big "auto-holic", as I have dubbed myself. LOL I have 4 other cars, 2 of which I'm going to be working on this summer. The 2 I'm speaking of are a '62 Ranchero that I got from my Grandfather when I was 15 and got my permit. It was my 1st car. I drove it up until a few months before I left for the Marine Corps in January 1998. While I was out of state for 4 years, it sat and parts were stolen off of it, so I'm now in the progress of getting parts for it again, along with ALOT of aftermarket items. :D

I also have a 72 Ford Gran Torino Sport with a 351C-4bbl and automatic. I'm going to be getting it running here within the next week or so (hopefully). I plan on doing a restoration on it over time.

On a final note, if anyone needs a clutch rebuilt (for a 5-speed conversion or anything else), please let me know. My Grandfather owns a clutch factory here, and I'd be happy to help you get what you need at as much of a discounted rate as I can (he does high-performance clutches for some applications as well). (FYI: If you're close enough to me that you want the flywheel resurfaced, you can drop it off and have it done as well. He also sells SOME pilot bearings, throwout bearings, and clutch alignment tools.)

I think I've pretty much covered everything about me. :) Any questions?

Welcome!

A big shout out to that '72 Torino 351C. I had one too, lots of power in the upper band, 3" flowmaster, arrgh-ARRGH-arrgh. Congrats on the expected arrival.

Thanks for the welcome! :) I failed inspection today (donut gasket leaking), but I have an appointment tomorrow at 9AM to get that fixed. Then Thursday it'll go back to finish the inspection. :)

I just found out that the guy had dual exhaust put on, too. I didn't even pay any attention, but now that I think about it, it is loud. :D

Well, I got a call from the guy that was supposed to fix the exhaust, and guess what...I was right. I TOLD the guy that inspected it that the exhaust didn't have a donut gasket leak, that it was most likely oil leaking onto it. The exhaust guy called me at work to tell me some oil had hit the exhaust pipe around the donut gasket, but the gasket itself was fine. However, the left muffler was torn up a little, so it wouldn't be able to pass inspection. So I had him throw on two glasspacks (Rick likes loud!!!). LOL Tomorrow it should pass. If not, I'm taking it somewhere else to someone who knows what they're doing.

Thanks again to everyone for the welcomes. :) I warn you now, I'm on over 200 forums, and I work alot. So I may not be here alot, but this will be the first place I go to look for advice. As a matter of fact, I'm getting ready to post a tech question. LOL
