I read that you're supposed to have a special tool for removing the fuel filter. I'm right in the middle of it and stuck. What do I do? Can I do this without the tool?

Then you can push the filter down into the lower half and it supposedly pulls right out. To remove the top portion that you cut you can use a ballpoint pen cap that will fit into the uper clip and the pen cap will release the upper portion of the filter. Just make sure to remove the lil 'clip' that is normally on pen caps or this trick will not work.
Hope this helps. :Beer
