I own a 1988 lincoln mark vii lsc. My mark vii has 130,000 miles on it. I can drive my car for about an hour before it will lose acceleration and shake then die. It will start but will immediately die again. after an hour or so it will start up and run well for another hour then it repeats the problem. I have had the ignition module replaced. The car's temp is also fine when it dies. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR FOUR DAYS AND NOBODY CAN FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG!! PLEASE HELP ME!

Have they checked the fuel pressure? Could be an overheating pump. I've had that happen before.

You say they changed the igntion mdule (TFI), but have they had a look at the PIP module inside the distributor?

had 351 cid ltd 2 ,,,,,years ago ,,,ran like you say your,s ,,,,cleaned the egr valve and that was that,,, good luck,,,, regards,,, kahunasteve ,,,(91 lsc)
