*edit* Just pop off the climate control trim. There will be 4 bolts holding the unit in. Remove them, and at the back there are 2 nuts holding the vacuum hoses on. Takes all of 5 minutes to remove.
93-94 (95-96 skip step 2 and 3)
1) Place the parking brake on, and put the gear selector in low.
2) Remove the surround around the HVAC by prying it up with your fingers as shown:
3) Remove the (2) 9/32 inch screws that hold the gear selector surround in place (93-94 only has these screws.....95-96 the whole panel is held in by clips, you do not have to remove this panel, but if you remove it you do not run the risk of scratching up your surround when you remove the HVAC control panel):
4) Remove the (4) 9/32 screws that hold in the HVAC controls (use the above pic for claification).
5) Pull the HVAC controls as far out as possible (I did not need to remove the radio, but some might.....there might not be enuf slack in the cables, or the vacuum lines)
6) Remove the wiring connections (both the gray and the black) by pressing on the clip that holds them in place.
7) Remove the vacuum hose connection by taking a 3/8 inch socket 1/4 drive and removing the 2 nuts that hold the vacuum connection in place, and remove the whole connection.
8) Now just reverse these directions and your new HVAC controls will be installed (you MAY want to test the new HVAC control panel before finishing the installation.....that way if it does not work, you will not have to rip your dash apart again).
