I have a Lincoln LS V8. Has 68k miles. I bought it on 10/01/2014. So I've had it about 6 days. The CEL came on 10/05, solid not flashing. Is there a way to pull the codes by doing a crazy ritual (closing the door multiple times, flashing the lights and turning the key a number of times) to pull them up on the display panels? On my dodge I can turn the key from off to on 3 times and it will flash the codes where the miles are listed.

I know I can go to autozone to have them pulled but they always take forever. I also ordered an OBDII tool but won't get it until Saturday.

My issue is when I'm sitting still, like at a stop light. The engine has a hiccup. Very slight and only once about every 15 to 30 seconds. The RPMs sit at about 600-700 and don't fluctuate when it hiccups. Then when I'm accelerating at any speed, there is a heavy hesitation and the engine shudders. Like it doesn't want to go. It does not do this from initial take off. If I put more foot into it ever so slightly it goes away. Or if i am feather light on acceleration or keeping the same speed it doesn't do this.

I'm thinking and hoping it is something to do with spark plugs or COPs. I was having a similar issue on my dodge Dakota and replacing the plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor button cured this issue. Which is why I'm hoping something similar is happening on the LS.

Any help or assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

So, even though no responses, I'll give an update anyways. I stopped to autozone since the parking lot was empty. Miss fire cylinder #3. So this weekend I will switch the coil on that plug to another cylinder and see how it acts. Then I'll know if it's just the coil or another issue. I should have my code puller this weekend so I can erase the codes and see from there. I'll update at that time
