ok, i was drive on the freeway, and all of a sudden the a/c went out, i really dont know what it is, it dosent need freon so that means it doesnt have a leak so i really dont know what it is, so i would really apreciate it if anyone can help, or if any had this problem please share your experiance. thanks

how do you know it doesn't need refrigerant?

Usually when the ac quits suddenly it is because the refrigerant is low and the pressure switch cuts off the clutch. When the engine is running and the ac is on you should see the compressor clutch cycle on and off every once in awhile. If you don't see the compressor clutch activating then something is telling the computer that it is low on refrigerant.

Alternatively a broken belt will obviously kill the ac. There may also be a problem with the termperature sensor inside the car or maybe a fuse is blown?

Good Luck, and yeah how do you know the refrigerant is OK? Are the pressures also proper?

don't know much about your car, but on my 03 v8 there's only 1 belt so if the belt went you'd be having all sorts of problems.

ac problem

I also have an 01 ls v8 and the air conditioning will just start blowing hot all of a sudden but if I raise the temp to max and then lower it to 70 it will blow cold for a while. I just now went to check the freon etc and for the life of me I cant find the valve to check it. I found the large one (high pressure side?) but not the smaller one to put the freon hose on. Any ideas? Thanks

well i came back from my mechanic and he said it might be a eletrical problem but i dont know where to start
