I just got my car back from getting brakes and alignment and the wheel now looks like it should be turning to the left when the car is actually going straight. Imagine the wheel turned about 20 degrees to go straight. Basically some incompetent mechanic doesn't know sh!t.

How do I fix this? Do you have to take off the steering wheel and put it back on right, or is it somehting more complicated?

that's the only way I know how.

not a big job - but you'll need a two-prong hub puller to get the wheel off and a torque wrech to put it back on (28ft-lbs).

Take it back to the store and tell them to line your wheel up right. People make mistakes........some more than others. Where did you get your alignment done at?

The only reason I can think of why they didn't line up your steering wheel was because the tie rods were frozen and they couldn't get them to break loose. That is just a lazy person. This happened to me at my buddies alignment shop. He did a front end alignment on my LS and thought the steering wheel would be fine. However, I drove about 2 miles down the road and went back. He torched and beat on the tie rods for 30 minutes until he was able to break it loose enough to turn. This is a common problem on all vehicles. Just take it back to your alignment shop and have them straighten the steering wheel. Or, take off the steering wheel yourself and align it. I have a How To on my website for this. See below:

Thanks for all the input. I went back there right after I realized it ( 5 mins later). The mechanics had left for the day so they said to take it back on monday. I'm just gonna do that, I'd rather not mess around near an airbag.
