Hi, I'm new here and am stationed in northern Iraq right now but when I get home I wanna get a Mk8. So I am using this time to do some research on them. Is there a good source of info anywhere? Internet time here is at a premium so if there was a consolidated place that would be great. What I am looking for is the difference between a regular Mark and an LSC is, the best years, best mods etc. Thanks for the help, great board youve got here.

First of all I want to say :W to the LVC you got questions we've got ansers. And boy did you come to the right sight about Mark VIII the people here know everything. And as far as mods LincolnMortorSports is top spot OneBadMark aka Geno owns it he'll hook you up with that part.

You will have a lot of opinions on this one I'll tell you bud. From what I here 93 an 98 is the one with the most Power. Personaly I like the 96 b/c I think they have all the bugs worked out. Also I prefer the updated climate control too. The deal with LSC and non LSC is LSC have true dual exhaust that about it. And also the HID's I love but they are very expensive.

Once again :W

Get a 98 LSC.

Cold air intake, K&N filter, C&L MAF

4.30 rear gears with 8.8, 28-spline trak-lok

J-mod the tranny and add a tranny Tru-Cool fluid cooler.

2400+ stall Edge torque converter.

Kooks mid-length headers from Supercoupe Preformance.

Exhaust: 2.5 inch pipes with Borla XS/ Magnaflow, Flowmaster 40/50, or Bassani Real Street Mufflers.

SCT Xcalibrator II tuner.

Autolite 103 plugs.

98 cobra intake manifold to top that sum'bitch off

Presto! mid-13's :gr_devil:

My friend Dan Sullivan from Salem, 97 Mark, but I forgot to mention Stage I heads & cams, not sure from where...

But I don't see why you wouldn't be able to attain mid-to-high-13's with the above setup...

You said he did those times with heads and cams so how could you do the same times without?

Also, Eli Hoffman ran 13.6 with the above mods, but with 3200 stall and underdrives...

I still contend it could be possibe; there are other factors in times; track conditions, weight, reaction, blah, blah, blah.

What's a stock Mark VIII run? 14.7-15.3? I've seen nearly a full second drop in 1/4 times with a good converter alone. So with the right marriage of parts, I don't see why you couldn't run mid 13's in a Mark VIII with the right parts. Didn't you claim to run low-13's with similar mods?

a full second drop from a converter alone? i don't think i would be running 13.8 with just a converter....

Accelerated Racing sold them, but he ceased making them. I guess they're too diffcult to make for these cars. Too bad, I'd think there'd be a decent market for them...

Update....

Well I'll be coming home from Iraq in a couple of weeks and on the first of december I won an Ebay auction for a 98 Mark. :D Many mods to follow.
