Somehow just discovered this forum, tho I've been on FvC for some time--recognize a few names from there, so hey guys.
I'm located in the DC area. I'm on my second LSC, an '88 this time. The '90 was totalled a few months back by an errant van parked without the brake on. I'd spent thousands upgrading it, and am still fighting with the van's insurance company to get a fair payment.
The '88 has a Cobra top end, and I swapped the cross-drilled Stillen rotors and Hawk bits onto it last month. As the weeks get more temperate, I'll be swapping the Ford Racing radiator, the 136-amp alternator, the Kenwood stereo and speakers, the cold-air intake & K&N, the 1:7 rockers, the 65mm throttle body, NOS headamp lenses, BBK headers, 2200 stall TC, 3.73s, etc. as well. As I take all the good parts off the '90 for my '88, I'll have other parts available if anyone needs anything. The damage is all behind the doors; the rest is a clean silver over red. LMK.
Oh...and my next project: I bought a 5.8-inch screen and mobile DVD player...I plan to relocate the idiot lights somewhere and put the screen on the dash, in that little cutout on the pre-90's that's shaped perfectly for it. I can't wait to be able to watch 'Bullit' from the driver's seat. If you're interested, I'll take pics.
I've also got a '73 Maverick Grabber, an '85 Buick Regal w/T-tops (needs a hot motor, tho...the 305 is an oil-burning dog), and a '71 LeMans/GTO clone (project...but aren't they all?).
I make my living consulting on the Smokey Bear program, and writing new-car reviews for a few local and internet publications. I couldn't ask for better work...tho I could ask for more dough. I'm not married, tho, and have no kids, so there's still some cash for the cars!
Anyway, I look forward to swapping many a story (and learning a lot) in the future from you folks. I'd also like to make it to one of the meets sometime.
Word!
