Hi. I just bought my first lincolin 97 mark viii yesterday and boy it just a absolute blast to drive. The car is completely 100% stock and in excellent condition other than a few small things.

Since im going to be letting my wife drive the car im not going to get to crazy with it. But i would like a few suggestions on a few things since i know nothing about these cars.

First who makes a exhaust for one of these cars? I have scoured the internet for the past 12 hours looking and the only thing i can find is one you weld up yourself. And what mufflers are quite when just toteing around town and have a real deep tone at wot.

Second i have read that the factory intakes are great and their is no use in changing it?

And lastly what are the biggest rims your able to run on a factory suspension set up?

Thanks guys.

I think some place may offer a complete kit if you want catback exhaust, but that's big $$$; if it's an LSC it has true duals already, if not you can get a muffler shop to mod it; or just replace the mufflers, Magnaflow XLs sound good imo
----
rims?I've seen some guys with 18s...dunno about 20s; it's an odd spacing size...5x4.25" so many of us hub swap to 5x4.5" so as to use Mustang/Cobra rims
----
factory intake is probably fine for your needs

Mine is not a lsc. Is LSC a package?

And since its not true duals it can be made ture duals?

With the hubs do you just buy the mustang hubs or do you have to change the axels as well. Im just looking to put saleen replica wheels on it. So i guess i need to see if they come in the factory bolt pattern or not first.

Go to advanced reply and at the bottom will be a "Click to upload Photo" Icon. Click "Add files" and choose photo, then click "Select files" and it'll be inserted automatically.

Or you can go to:

http://postimage.org/

Photobucket

ect..

yes, true duals can be created, the tricky part may be finding a shop that's willing to remove the '3rd cat';

for the fronts we use a mustang hub/bearing assembly, pretty simple; the rears have to be redrilled (with a jig)

one of the best things you can do is become familiar with the search engine within the site

Welcome to Lincoln ownership. You have found the best site for keeping your car on the road in whatever style you please. Make use of search - most questions have been covered by someone, many times with pictures. There is a complete thread with everyone's list of what size rims and tires are on their car. Headlights, door handles, blend door repair, electrical - you name it, its here and with pics so you understand the scope. There is a reason there are 10,000 lunatics driving 16-21 year old cars around, and with a smile on their faces, too.

First suggestion... Get the wife her own car.

Second... MODS!!!!!!!!

!!!FIXED!!!

There relay isn't any off the shelf exhaust set ups, some here have had their own bent up and attached to there stock manifolds and other have mid-length headers or cobra manifolds. There are lots of great exhaust threads on this site, just use Google to search this site and you will see many threads.

Others have IMRC deletes for an intake mod but its best to always start with gears in these cars. You will just have to try a size on a see if you like them or not. I prefer 3.73's others are nothing but 4.10's, so it's a matter of preference.

Like others have mentioned you can get a few wheels from some venders that will bolt right up or switch to mustang hubs and have more choices. That's up to you though. I will (someday) install my cobra hubs so I can run a certain kind of wheel that I want.

Click me for useful info on our wheels sizing.
