Ok so I got a complete cold air intake kit,
Electronic cutouts,
Next a sct programmer,
I would like to get some headers..... but I just can't find anything. So if the people who know could possibly share the info would be great.
Like a cam.
Info like what style and year of vehicle to collect items from. thanxs again.

good luck

with headers, I've only ever seen one option and that was from Stainless Works and at over $800 seems an awful lot for such a minimal gain

"Like a cam" what? if your asking about cams, it depends on your motor... if you have a 2nd gen, then I would never bother, as the cam timing adjust itself to increase and maximize the torque range. if you have a 1st gen, then there has been a couple of people who had custom grinds done. the hardest part is finding a place that would have the right blanks to start with, and then they would need to know what you want out of it, what else your doing, and what your end goal is...

Custom headers or try to mangle the single set of long tube thunderbird headers onto it.

Assuming that it is a V8. He's given us no information on what he has.

regardless if he wants to start bolting on performance parts, its definitely the wrong car for that, might want to look into a mustang or maybe even a giant bowtie Lego set...

Hey thanks for replying, so I have a 1999 V8 premium audio all leather very little wood trim advance track all silver no chrome besides for both grills 17 inch wheels that I purchased a few months ago with only 96,000 miles very nice IMG_20150614_172954.jpgso far I have added a few personal touchesIMG_20160216_175702.jpg, I have read mostly every post I could find about installing a supercharger or a turbo they all sound so discouraging about it the turbo looks easy enough to install ,the supercharger a little more difficult until I found this posting( http://www.bangshift.com/forum/foru...remote-mounted-m122-eaton-roots-blower).I.d.k. what's your thoughts.
Ok so I've never been in to cars besides for driving them , a few years back my brother in law got a 97 convertible gt mustang 4.6 black on black he started to share his passion of course tearing up the streets was fun but actually working on the car was a first for me, applied upgrades and cosmetics this thing was awesome and it hasn't stopped since till now we're working on his 01 SS SLP PACKAGE .
I KNOW I'M NEVER GONNA GET PERFORMANCE LIKE THOSE CARS BUT I'M GOING TO TRY to get as much as I can even if I blow up my car in the process hey I'm having fun not only working on the car but investigating whether or not my ideas can be done. Since I'm new to the playground of cars I'm a out of the box kinda person . A friend of mine heard me mentioning that I wanted a supercharger ......... a few days later he drops off a box and said I gotta see this and leaves inside of the box was a 6.2 liter free spinning Eaton 1.9 supercharger I now have on the table in my garage . Or should I just stop f@?#ing with my car be the best advice I should take. Once again thanks .

Psssssstttttt... It's a 2000. There was no 1999 model year even though the LS was released mid-1999.

I have read mostly every post I could find about installing a supercharger or a turbo they all sound so discouraging

Discouragement is relative to how many thousands of dollars you want to spend on 150hp

Yes I KNOW it's a 2000 but mine was made 99 with no governor or speed limiter . And then if you stay in side of the box nothing is possible but I'm outside eventually I'll get this done and update if I crashed and burned. But I'm always on this forum soaking up all the knowledge that is provided by and to all. Thanks to all !!!

None of the 1st gen sport models (V8 or V6) have a limiter. The year of manufacturer (MY '00-'02) has no bearing on the limiter. It's a tire rating thing.

in what world is installing a turbo system easier than any supercharger? SC's alre almost always easier to install as most of them tent to be self contained oil system and most postivie displacements type have the bypass valve built right in, a turbo system will need much more fabrication. and the real problem is the weakness of THIS AJ motors glass internals... anything more than a few PSI of boost (4-5) and your going to blow your motor up, and then your going to either spend the next few year to a decade having one off parts built that will cost three times more than your entire car did. bottom line, your going to spend a fortune to drop half a sec off of the cars 1/4 time at best. hell I actually think this is one of the cars where its easier and cheaper to make a civic faster...

honestly, if you want to make this car faster, just get a bottle of giggle gas. its (relatively) cheap, doesn't require you or a machine shop spending months welding and fabricating up parts for the job.

also there is no way somebody dropped off a 6.2 liter blower... the 1.9l is the displacement of the eaton and the 6.2l is the displacement of the LSA motor it came off of (either a CTS-V or ZL1 since the ZR1/LS9 uses a 2.3l eaton)

I would say the most discouraging part is that most of the people who did it blew their motors up.

As far as I know, Quik was the only one (with a nod to Alex's project) to successfully boost his LS. It wasn't cheap ($3000+ for the kit) and some other parts had to be acquired.

he pretty much had to fabricate ever part.

Rob also had his running good, but quickly chose to go back to stock and sell it so he could get a G8 and make serious power with half the effort.

The only practical power you will ever get out of an LS is if you swap it. Assuming you want your factory options to work, including all gauges, heated seats, climate cobtrols etc... By the time you've got new drivetrain/powertrain you might as well have bought a different car.

You will get some (yet minimal) interest from this community on the matter, but that's only because we're LS enthusiasts. Several people have crashed and burned on this venture. And from what I see, they were very knowledgeable and they had money. That should tell you all you need to know. Life is short, don't waste your time.

Don't try to make the LS something it's not. It's great at what it was intended to be. Let it do its thing.

To be clear... no direct bolt on for the LS

...and the reason for so much negativity is:
A.) we get this thread once a month from new guys (99.9999999474) never make it past getting mad
b.) with no aftermarket, it'll take some one who REALLY knows what they're doing to boost this car... someone who knows "headers" are on the very bottom of a "needs" list. and wouldn't do a SCT tune first.
III.) someone serious about this, or capable.. would not post be posting how to do it, and would know what they're getting into... thus giving you a hard time about it.
4.) all the info your looking for is here... IF your serious about it, get started and we'll answer what technical questions we can in this one off / +$4k ( double your cars value) build...

buy the way, your passenger door looks good, but maybe a pic of the whole car....

GL, I hope you bring something new to the group... (how do i boost is not)...

so, still no $$$ budget numbers.

... and yeah, g-rell hit it.

someone serious about this, or capable.. would not post be posting how to
do it, and would know what they're getting into...

you'd already have some mock up pics to show, too. now get busy !

nail hit right on the head with this one...

... We all have to start somewhere, though. The only reason I've kept my mouth shut is because I had the "luxury" of my LS sitting for 3 months before I came home from school to fix it. I frequented this forum in that time before running the car through its paces and seeing how performs, so I saw a number of newbie hot shots pop up. I came in right around the time Dustin sold his "LS 500" and bought a BMW

It's not the questions that make the difference. Its the amount of acceptance or arrogance that does
