Hello from Richmond VA!

I recently aquired a 78 lincoln mark V, the car is in o-k shape. it was garage kept until the mid 90's then sat outside :( on and off since then. there is rust here and there (ok everywhere) but no holes (yet) Its got a 460, c6 & a disc brake 9" rear (yay) with 80 k origional miles it still runs great and drives nice. i plan to strip all the unned trim off, drop it a hair (if atall) get some more aggressive wheels / tires on it, get that 460 breatheing the way it should then satin black it after rust repair & vinyl top removal until i can get it painted. sound like a plan?

The car sat for the past 2 + years Literaly under a pile of household trash (GUHHH) I had bugged the guy for years to sell it to me and he wouldint move on it. then i get a call from him saying hes moving and if i get it towed outta there i can have it free. i showed up the next day with a toolbox, battery, and a can of gas. needless to say i drove it home :)

Here are a few pics of it the day i brought it home. i have since washed the funk off and it cleaned up quite nicely. if it wasint for the rust and clear coat issues on the hood the origional paint would be fine. oh well.

Even the interior was straight other then grungyness and a slight fire hazard issue with the stat switch.

:W to:V That is a nice Mark V I see it has the base model comfy cloth seats. Very nice. That is a great find especially since it was basically free.

thanks :) yea im glad its got the cloth seats. its a pretty base model except its got the turbines, the 460, had dual exhaust and the lighting package. im glad its lacking alot of the other optional electronic stuff seeing how whats there now does not work as it should. i plan to make a custom dash (just to cover the face area) to house all aftermarkert gauges. also plan to ditch the semi functional power seat and locks. the power windows are ofcourse staying. I am excited about the car. itl be a fun project to make fast :) I like sleepers. My other one is a Sunfire :D

hahah yea it will. the gf hates the car but she loves donuts. i showed her what fun a 20 foot long car that weighs almost 5000 pounds can be when its dooin donuts :D She screamed, it was great.

Welcome to the club.
Those cars are huge I hope you can fix it right great colors when cleaned up.

GOOD LUCK
