Hi everyone:

I am a new member, but not an owner of a Lincoln or Cadillac. What brought me here was a test ride with an 02Lincoln LS V8. And that thing doesn't go out of my mind. What a nice ride!
I am currently driving a Ford Windstar Minivan, but in a year or 2 we have an empty nest. Maybe I should reward myself with Lincoln LS V8.

What do you think? Someone warned me about all those computers in these cars. Someone else said go for the V8 for nicer power delivery and sidestep the V6. Fuel consumption matters too but it is secondary to other considerations.

Welcome... You'll get all types of "warnings" but a quality of a car just depends on how well its taken care of... If you get to looking again... Most go for a second gen (2003-2006) v8 LS or LSE (search around this site for the difference)... popular vote is an 06'. But finding a well maintained and documented one is most important... If you find a couple, feel free to post them up and have us take a look!!!

Yes get the Gen II not the earlier version with Hydra-fan. Welcome to the forum, you will every answer you can ask here and solutions to your problems. Proud owner since 2001 still running strong.

So I will keep and eye out for the Gen 2 LS v8. The one I looked at was Gen 1. Meanwhile it sold to someone else. Good for him or her!

I agree, a well kept car is key buying used. I only bought one car new. The hint with the Hydra-fan was exactly the kind of information I was looking for.
