can the lincoln mark viii 96 headlights handle the heat of an hid kit without melting it?

from what i understand, HID's do not produce hardly any heat compared to a halogen bulb.

If you have a 96, buy the factory HID system. The buckets ont he 96 simply suck.
The light output is not the problem, the buckets are.

Do these lights have a melting problem?. I was looking at putting something brighter in, like silver stars maybe, and cleaning uo the lenses.
Mine are a bit dim, the reflectors look ok, just the lenses have yellowed.

Read about it on here, COMPLETE waste of time with the factory old lenses....it is not so much the lens, it is the reflector and the lens......more the reflector. :shifty:

Like ray said....it's more the reflective coating on the parabola. It may look ok through the lens, but I garuntee that it's a grey chalky substance cooked to the face.
