It is recommended but not required. The higher wattage Plus bulbs may be a bit too much for the stock connector. However, I had the Plus bulbs in mine before I switched to HID and didn't have any problems but it's better to be safe than sorry later.thefly01 said:I know alot of you are using these bulbs. I just needed to know if I go with the plus bulbs do I have to get the heavy duty harness also? Thanks
I got these bulbs and its been a plug and play system. No problems at all and no need to modify.GrayGhost1 said:I have the Hoen All Weather bulbs in the fogs. They do not require the connectors. The only Hoen bulbs that are recommended for the heavy duty connectors are the Xenonmatch Plus bulbs. The Xenonmatch bulbs operate at OEM wattages.
The connectors have red and black wires that you splice into the existing wiring harness.
If you want to put the Xenonmatch Plus bulbs in your fogs you would have to get the 9005. Now, there will be quite a bit of glare with that bulb since it doesn't have a painted tip like the 9145/H10 bulb. The heavy duty connector is recommended by the manufacturer (Hoen) for the higher wattage Xenonmatch Plus bulbs.gray1g said:I want to get the Hoen Xenonmatch Plus Bulbs for my fog lights. Which do I need the 9005 or the 9006? Also, do I need to upgrade the fog light harness? As soon as someone replies I can get these things ordered. Thanks

Lowsgray1g said:Where are they? Highs or fogs?
Yes, but the 9006 bulbs have a different socket mount than the 9005.01lssport said:Don't the 9006's have a painted tip? Will they work for the fog?
My answer was that the 9006 has a painted tip and no they will NOT fit in the fog lights.gray1g said:Now I'm really confused. The 9005 and 9006 will work in the fogs? Grayghost did you get a chance to read my reply to you?
Thanks!!! 3 months so far and no problems with stock wiring.thefly01 said:So Mike your saying all you did was put the bulbs in but haven't upgraded the wiring either? love your rims by the way.
