I'm not looking for ADT or anything like that just a good outdoor camera or two, motion activated maybe.

I have a .40 with hollow points and also a 12 gauge. My apt has a built in alarm but i dont use it.

As much as I want a gun it won't help me catch the bad guys when I'm not home
I'm away from home 13-14 hours, 5 days a week .

We have Vivint and are happy with them. If you are calling a company to come out to you, treat them like they are auditioning for the job and not like the cable company that is already under contract. Figure out what they offer and what you ideally want, then negotiate/bargain to get them included in the price of your package. It is a bit like buying a cell phone; they know they are going to get your money back through the service contract, so they are willing to cut you a deal on the hardware. If they are not willing to play ball, tell them that the other alarm company will be getting your business.

I think I'm going to want closed circuit. I don't think I want another monthly bill and someone else to have access to my cameras/arming disarming.
