I picked up my car from the dealer today from them looking at it for my starting problems. A new problem arose and they want me to keep a log until Monday morning to see what all happens.
Here is my question:
I know when you press the lock button on the key fob twice to lock the car the horn sounds and the lights flash once. Now when I push the key twice to lock the car the lights flash multiple times and the horn sounds twice. It should only do this because of a door, trunk or hood open to alert you of something not being shut.
Does anyone know why it is doing this or what it means code wise?
Thanks.

Edit: It flashes a total of six times. One like always plus an additional five times. Horn honks twice.

that does it only when there is a door/trunk open.. that happens to me.. the trunk does not close all the way so i close it and kinda hold it down....

try putting the key in the ignition and see if the door ajar light turns on.. if it doesnt.. take out the key and lock it.. if it happens then it is something else.. regardless.. ur still protecting ur car.. and all the doors will lock/unlock

D@mn Hawk you are having some horible luck, man I wish I could help in some way.

If I'm not mistaken but you may have a dead battery. I remember reading that someone else was having the same problem and found out the battery was going bad. Check that first if you can.

Yeah tell me about it.
Its not the trunk, I tested that too and it should say what is ajar on the message center, no message.
I'm looking in the service manual now under diagnostic and testing for these symptoms but I'm not all that good with the multi-meter.

I think the battery isn't any good either but I just got a new one in Novembe and just got back from the dealer who tested it and said it was good. But they also told me my drain was coming from my aftermarket audio which is unhooked. I called them out on it but they think I have no idea what is going on. I'm not a certified tech but I'm not an idiot either.

HAHA WOW man just throw your battery away and buy a new one! Kidding

also there is one under the hood...Maybe check that one....
also when you close the doors and lock the door does the light still stay on inside the car??

Hope that helps...

Everything is normal, lights doors etc.
I'm trying to check the hood latch switch now, I've really never used a multi-meter and am dumb when it comes to it an the little amount of instructions don't help either.

I believe I have found the problem with this. The tech must have been doing some tests on different switches and forgot to hook up the hood switch and connector completely. I hooked it up, reset the computer and everything seems to be normal, today anyway.
