So since my wife is going to be out of work until October recovering from surgery I've been filling out applications to get some extra work. I put an app in at Toys R Us for a bike assembler, it wasn't five minutes later I got an email saying I wasn't what they were looking for, then I put in an app at Advanced Auto. I talked to the manager there who said he would keep an eye out for my app, and he said it didn't pop up, meaning I wasn't qualified enough. Why is it so damn hard for me to find "non skilled" work. I've applied at restaurants, stores, and about a dozen other places and haven't heard back from any one.

Cause if you're over qualified they know training you in is a waste of money cause you're just going to quit in under a year.

Yep. I applied for part time bike assembly for Toys-R-Us and got the same chit. I framed houses for 6 years, did residential HVAC for 3 years and commerical Maintenance for 2 years. They said I didn't have enough experience building bicycles.
