Hello, I have a 2001 Lincoln LS V8 Sport and the brake light that is against the back window is dusty and dirty in there. I really want to take a wet towel and clean behind there but I do not know the proper way to get in there and do it. Please give advice. Thanks John

welcome!

you have remove the light to clean behind it

1.pop cover off (pull back)

2.pull light assembly out

it is a little bit of a pain during the installation to get to rubber trim back on straight. sometimes i get so frustrated with this rubber piece, that i put it down and try agian the next day.

good luck!

The color is Ivory Parchment, a tri-coat paint. It is an additional cost color.
Yes I am in Minnesota, located in Roseville. Where is your car I did not see any pictures? John

Hey man I went out to the garage and tried pulling back on that piece but it did not want to budge. I am afraid if I pull back any harder I will break it. I guess I will keep trying. John

Nice pic, gotta love that Ivory color. I see your LS has the chrome front and back bumper. I thought those were the Premium models and only came in a V6? Maybe I am confused lol. John

Hey John what's up? Glad you joined the LVC, you'll find a lot of good people here helping each other with our LSs.

The chrome piece on the bumper is on all non sport LSs, the ones like yours without the chrome bumper is the sport model, doesn't matter if its premium or V6 or V8.

Hey man thanks for the welcome. I am glad to be here and learn new things with different people.

The picture of the Lincoln LS that is taken with the mirror shot is from a 1984 Corvette.

Hey Artur, yae I learned about this site when you told me about your BMW and I browsed around a little and started learning a lot about cars. Not only that all the people are very nice and helpful so I am glad to be a part of this community. :waving:

to remove the cover, you might have to push down and pull back. if a remember correctly, you should only have to pull back about 1/4"
