I want to put in my new LED's in the rear strip...how do i get the carpet out without breaking the clips that hold it in? also, its not glued on also, is it?

They are plastic screws i believe just grab a pair of pliers and grab them by the end and wiggle them back and forth thats the easiest way... they will go right back in

They are the exact same kind of clips used in the engine compartment and the fender walls. Just pull them straight back, wiggle a bit. They won't break, and the liner isn't glued.

You can spend a few bucks, and just get one of these.

or get one of these for less:

the clips under the trunk lid are NOT like those under the hood of the car, or in the wheel well.

Those are "fake" screws that spread a "anchor-type" clip. The ones under your trunk are just "button" clips...they are formed to spread on their own.

easiest thing to do, I found, to gain a better fulcrum pivot is to slide the V-shape under the button head, and then use the handly of another screwdriver under the clip removal tool's "pivot point" to gain a better fulcrum angle.

I just pulled the carpet off the pins, and pulled em out afterwards, and put em back.
