I'm about to pick up my '00 LS V8 Sport today, and I keep hearing about issues with the cooling fans going out, and it costing like $500 for the part and 10 hours labor... I'm wondering, what the HECK kinda fan is that? Is it a fan that is powered by hydraulic fluid lines running to it? Or is it a fan on a hydraulic clutch (like RX-7's I worked on before) attached to the engine and speeds up/slows down as the fluid inside it gets hotter or cooler?

Couldnt you just hook up an electric fan and run it to a switch or acc power?

Hey go to fordpartsnet.com and it's only $285.00 just a heads up. The installed at a dealer was $200.00, had it done about a month ago.
