Anyone know how long points are on your license for in Michigan?

when you get a ticket you get points!!! i got a ticket last yr for something and was wondering when i'm going to lose the points..

hmmm... strange...
yeah, around here, we dont have a points system. if you get a ticket on your record, it stays there forever. insurance companies only care about any tix on your record in the past 3-5 years. anything over 5 years old pretty much doesnt matter. :woowoo2:

yea were based on a point system here once you hit 12 points you have to go for a reexamination and possibly get your license suspended,, i have 14 points... LOL.. but i just lost 4 today, and i lost another 3 in 2 wks.. so i dont think they will suspend it.. it'll put me at 7 points.. I got a ticket about a month and a half ago for doin 90 in a 70 but other then that i havent had a ticket in 2 yrs.. so i think they'll just warn me

In Missouri, we are opposite. We have a set amount of points on our license and we lose points when we get tickets. If you drop below a certain amount of points, you get suspended.

4 yrs in Ohio thank goodness and KNOCK on wood I get my last 2 dropped this October and hopefully my rates drop also.

in mass when you first get your license you are a "step" 15 with every year of accident or ticket free driving you get one step taken off but if you get into an accident you raise 3 steps!!! what a rip off the lowest step you can be on is 9 im 14 i had my licence for only 1 year so i guess that means im a good driver

points???? wtf?
It's been a long time since I've seen an IL driver's manual, but I'm pretty sure they use them. (They're normally kept at the state level, so if you've only gotten local tickets, you may not see them. Or IL really may not have a points system.)

In Oklahoma, different moving violations carry different points levels; once you hit a certain number of points, your license is automatically suspended. As far as speeding goes, only tickets for 10mph and over go to the state, which is the only place the insurance companies get to look. As a result, "SP+9" is a common plea; the locality gets its money and the driver doesn't get stung in the bank account.

I don't recall what the points are, but it used to be something like 1 for speeding, 2 for reckless driving, 4 for DUI, etc, with a max point level of 5. One point dropped off for every year without an offense, or something like that. (Of course, it's been a long time since I looked it up, and it may have changed, or I could be remembering incorrectly.)

In Pa I believe they drop 1 or 2 per year, insurance companies vary but usually its 2-3 before say a speeding ticket is done costing $$$.
