how much for a friends labor?

A buddy of mine ,who is a laid of mechanic but is doing side work is in his driveway is going to do some work on my car, he is replacing the rear brakes and replacing both front stabilizers.How much do you think I should pay him,he offered to do it for free but I know he could use the cash,I was thinking $150 for his time?

Ya i think you should give him now this much.He will be working on your car.I know friends dont like taking money for what they do for us but its also not good that they'll put their effort and not get anything.You just force him and give him the money.
