Was up guys im thinking of getting my first lincoln ls. The one i am looking at is a 2000 lincoln ls v8. It has 113,000 miles and the seller is asking $5,668. Do you think this is a good buy? Considering its in good working mechanical condition.

Let me know what you guys think any recommendations or feedback is greatly appreciated.:)

i could ? because i live in miami and i have seen gen II for sale for but they are up there in the price. I saw this 2006 lincoln ls v8 80,000 miles for $8500 i saw another one 2005 ls v8 for $7,999 67,000 miles.

Suggested retail in good condition is 5800. A good rule of thumb is, never pay close to kbb value. I'm sure you can get it for cheaper. So no, the price is not necessarily a steal.

thanks frank more or less how much would u pay for a lincoln ls v8 fitting this description

yes...you may need to expand your search a bit, but yes.

Odds are that the tensioners have not been done, the cops have not been done, the clockspring is worn out, the yellow wire under the seat is about to let go, and VCG gasket is about to start leaking.

The dealer from whom I bought had mine stickered at $5990 and I refused to make an offer after the first drive. He asked for a number and I named $4000 cash off the lot.

I'm sure I still overpaid for my 2000 LS8. :(

Don't let those northern guys fool you, get a Florida car! Why? NO ROAD SALT/GRIT! Nothing sucks like buying a northern car and finding out it's full of cancer. If you are going to buy one, make sure you look under it before you buy it.

Unless there is something custom, I'd consider a vehicle a good deal if I can get it for a grand under KBB. Once you take ownership, you just knocked a grand off of it anyways. That's how I look at it.

I would try to hold out for a Gen2 V8. There's a lot of issues that were fixed on them from the Gen1. Most notably the transmission.

thanks guys any feedback is appreciated good or bad. imma keep my eyes open

When I bought my LS I bought a 2000 LS v6 with 109,000 miles for $2,150 from a dealer. Nothing was wrong with it besides a wheel bearing that needed to be replaced, and the paint was chipping in a couple locations.. Bottom line is, if you pay $5,668 for this car, you are getting ripped off. Someone said it on here before, don't ever pay anything close to KBB value.

wtf dude, are you trying to purposely make the guy make a bad purchase? lol

an 05 with a Gen I front? i wonder why? accident!!!

EDIT: and the hood doesn't even seem to be sitting right.

It also has gen 1 fogged headlights and either a broken of fogged fog light. That car has definitely had front end damage!

does a 2004 lincoln ls v8 ultimate come with a gen I front ???? i thought they had a gen II front

I got Cricket (00 v8 122K) for 2500 at auction, needed some work, but needed a car. I think I have 3200 in it total so far. I could probably spend 10K to add all the mods I see here, but I'm not walking, and it's comfortable.

Never had a car that felt like it was doing 15mph while doing 40-45.

Was on a leaf peep trip with my wife and dad, and thought I was holding up traffic, I asked them how fast did they think we were going, and they said 15 - 20 mph. They didn't believe it when I told them we were doing 45. My GPS also indicated 45.

This car can be a ticket magnet if I'm not paying attention.

@cirelle the 2000 lincoln ls i was looking at looks exactly like your car same color everything

Save your money and buy a 2003+

A 2000 can be like buying a ticking time bomb of problems. These cars are not cheap to maintain. Don't let the cheap sticker price fool you. You will need deep pockets to keep a first gen running properly

i think you have the wrong understanding of Gen I vs Gen II vs Gen II lse/06 fronts.

Gen I (00-02) Looks like this: (there are sport and non sport versions)
