Can i get into the 13's with just bolt ons? Any 1 in the 13's with bolt on's? What ones do you have? My buddy's cobra has been shatting on me way to long. Also can i retard the timing 5 degrees like the cobra's is? What kind of gains can i expect to recieve to this? What are the con's of doing this? What do i need to do to do it, is it via chip reflash or physical changes? :L

I guess it depends on what you consider a bolt-on. Maybe you could do a gear swap and a bolt-on whipple charger. Headers are about $600 and a PITA to get on. Exhaust will get you a few ponies but I dont think you would get more than a few tenths off your E.T. Its actually kinda hard to get a car into the 13's with only bolt-ons especially with these heavy cars.

Gears and spray is the easiest way. When my car had the S/C on it, it ran 12.8 in the 1/4. thats with 348 HP at the wheels, 4.10's, stage 4 shift kit, and drag radials.

I would like to do it natraully aspirated.. Trying to stay outta the NOS.. I would like to do it via pulleys, intake, exhaust? Things of this sort, is it possible? I would also do maybe head work or something of that sort.. What type of gears are you guys running?

4.10/ 4.30's
3200+ stall converter with J-mod 98+ tranny
Port n' polish work on the heads
Cobra intake, port-matched
Underdrives
Kooks or other long-tube headers
Free flowing exhaust
A good tune.

You should hit the 13's w/o doing head work or even a cobra intake for that matter.

geno, i noticed you do not have shift kit. is the baldino tranny basically that good enough that you do not need a shift kit?

BRT does their own magic to the valve body.

Whatever you do don't retard your ignition timing. I don't know where you got that advice. I think you are getting ignition and cam timing confused. I have my ignition timing advanced 6 degrees and it doesn't ping or knock at all. The torque and throttle increase is greatly increased. It is very possible to get into the 13's with just bolt ons. I'm actually pretty close to the 13's without gears, trac-loc, drag radials, torque converter or full exhaust system.

gears #1 improvment (heavy car need big kick in ass)
torque convertor #2 (works good but big stall not always fun in luxury car)
exhaust#3 you should already have done this, usually first mod.
headers (long tube) will be worth 20-25 hp but what about smog? not legal, shorties5-10 hp, worth it? maybe?
blue bottle works good, but like you, don't like nos,
ati procharger works very good on 4v motor , dont forget fuel pump upgrade !!

long tubes as in which i thought kooks were the only ones available to use with out modding the header?

Hellllllllllloooooooo! :waving:

What am I? Chopped liver? :slam

Naturally aspirated, no intake work, no headers, stock motor. 13s - check the track forum, last two trips out.

OK, barely 13s, but it's gettin' better! :Beer

no whipple charger kits for our cars :(

with just gears and deleted third cat, Im running 14.3s

MarkofDeath, on your cardomain site you have a list of mods including transgo shift kit and BBK pulleys...? Have you not been back to the track yet with those mods?
