I wanted to ask a question that I have very strong feelings on. How does everyone park and why. Also mention what you drive.

Do you pull in or back in and why?

Personally I back in, but I'm not going to tell you my reasoning just yet because that will be a whole nother debate.

:F

I have a strange driveway that lets me turn around in the back so I can pull straight in, and turn around when I leave so I can drive straight out.

If you are asking about parking at home, I back in. That is because of the way the driveway is setup, it is easier to back in than back out. I drive an 89 MarkVII.

Ok I really wanted to know about parking lots. Everyone has a different situation at home so that doesn't really count. And obviously parallel parking doesn't count.

Ok, in the lots I I tend to park away from other cars, so it is usually a pull-through situation. And at work I have a spot far away from the building in a corner, but I still have to double park to keep this fat chick from dingin my door that seems to always have to park next to my car. But I prefer to back in.

I usually back into a space, But I park away from other cars to be on the safe side don't want no dings in the Conti, she has a few already.

90% of the time, I back in. Thats the way I do it at my house, and the usual hangout spots. And when Im at the mall, I park far away from everyone, thats the only thing.

Ok, well as I said, I always back in. My reason is simple. For one there's a little law in NY that states that it's unlawful to back into traffic so it's actually illegal not to pull in but to back out. The reason for the law is even simpler. When you're backing out of a parking space you can't see oncoming traffic period.

Also, my personal reason is that it's the professional way to park having been in the limo business for a while you learn these things. And most of all it amazes people to back a 18' long car into a crowded parking space.

All that besides the fact that it looks cool. ;)

I drove a limo for a while. My favorite part was hopping in the back after the guests were dropped off and raiding the cabinet. I could always blame the consumption on the occupants.

Depends what car I drive, but I pull straight in. The gfs car and the mark I park away from everyone.
Thats a valid pont about backing into traffic.

Bryan I also drove a limo for about a year. Learn a lot about peple that way.

Unless I am in a rush....which I am not usually, because I drive so fast, that when I get where I am going I usually have PLENTY of time.....but IF I am in a rush I really do not care where, I will not be there long enuf to care.

Under normal circumstances....which is 99.99999999% of the time, I back in, and I park pretty far away. I HATE other drivers that have NO respect for your car, and wing the door open right on your car........hello door dings. And the other reason is kinda the same....I HATE other drivers, most do not have the consideration and drive like it is the Daytona 50000000000 in the parking lot, so IF you have to back out, and you have a Yellow Hummer H2 next to you.....you are screwed....hello new car....because the rear end of yours is now 3 spots on the other side of your car.

So....I park as far away as possible, and I back in.
