Use an open end wrench on the bolt closest to the firewall, and a long socket/small ratchet on the bolt closest to the motor. Also helps if you undo the fuel lines, and move them out of the way. The bolt closest to the firewall is fun to get out though. There'll come a point where the wrench will hit the firewall and you're stuck getting the bolt out with your fingers.
I had mine out to try and clean it a month and a half ago, and it was a huge pain to do. A few weeks later I put in a new one and it was a piece of cake. Once you figure out the right angles to get your hands in there, it's not that bad. I suggest using a little RTV sealant to hold the new gasket to the IAC when you go to re-install it.
Good luck.
