Unfortunately I am having a little trouble replacing the bulb for my gear shift which is listed in the picture. I can successfully remove the frame, but I am having a little trouble removing the cover to get to the bulb that has: parking, drive, reverse, and etc. Does anyone have instructions on how to remove the cover so i can replace the bulb, i would greatly appreicate it! Also does anyone know what size bulb is required?

Hi Travis

I checked your profile and did not see what car you need help on. If you mention the year make and model I can access the ford website and try to get the inst to remove the console/shifter to replace that bulb for you. I do know that the bulb is a CLB-37 in my book.

its pretty easy. Here is how i did it in order......1)took the little transition cover off. between the front of the console and the ash tray.2)Took the rear cover off the console. you knoe the thing with the vents for the people in the back seat. 3)took the top off the console off. 4) removed the left front bolt of the console side cover and pulled it slightly away from the dash. BE VERY CARFULL NOT TO MESS UP THE CONSOLE. 5)took my hand and reached under the shifted trim plate.(the piece with the P R N D on it)Found the little light socket and twisted it counterclock wise about a 1/4 turn to "unlock" it and pulled striaght down. pulled the bulb out of the socket. 6) reverse the steps to put back together.

Is there only one bulb for it? Up by the P and + selections it is very dim. I have the SST gear set up.

On my 2002 LSE (different interior than the 2003+ models), there are indeed two bulbs. One is towards the front of the gearshift and the other is almost directly under where the "3" and "2" gear selections are.

It's extremely easy. I just popped the shifter cover off carefully...didn't need to remove the shifter itself. Then the bulb easily came out with needle nose pliers. Advance Auto Parts had the replacement bulb in stock. Some people say it's harder but that's seriously all I did to replace it.
