i noticed a lot of people on here are spraying with NOS on their mark VIII. How much does it cost to do that and what all extra do you have to buy to get it to work and is it hard to install etc. Also what kind of times can u run on that stuff, for instance if i ran a 14.3 right now?

thanks,
scott

$600 for a 'dry' kit should get you in the 12's or worse, low 13's with a 125 shot, gears and converter. Wet kits tend to pool and blow intakes.

what the diference btwn a dry and wet kit, the amount of shot? also it it illegal to have on your car?

Also make sure to uprgade the fuel system: 255 Walbro fuel pump and a adjustable fuel pressure regulator is a must. Might want to add a shift kit, if not done already, and some sticky tires for better shifts and launches.

Basically with a dry shot you trick the MAF to adjust for more fuel while with the wet shot you shoot fuel with the nitrous. Both setups have their advantages but the dry shot is easier to install and more commonly used on the 4.6 DOHC. You will need to get some colder spark plugs. I think the Autolite AR103's are perfect for a 100 shot. Gap the plugs at .035. Also you will need a Walbro 255lph fuel pump and make sure your fuel injectors are in decent shape. On top off that you should get a tune (chip or dyno tune). You might want to retard your timing a bit and make sure the A/F ratio is cool while you are spraying. If your car runs a 14.9 or 15.0 I could see it dipping into the 13's with a 100 dry shot which is like 75 at the rear wheels.

k, thanks guys, good info.

i have nx wet 150 shot , ar103 plugs gapped at .048 , stock fuel pump and regulator
if your car hooks it will knock off 1.5 seconds with a 150 shot , you should upgrade the pump
i have never changed the tune up from N/A on any of my cars under a 150 shot
with 175 and more i usually take out some timing and tighten the plug gaps to about .035
i have no way of retarding the timing right now and i want to run pump gas , so i'm not willing to try a 200+ shot yet
pretty simple to hook up , i came right of of the schrader valve for fuel and screwed the nozzle into the plastic air intake tube
i have less than $100 into my system , but i had alot of stuff laying around...lol
i do agree with the shift kit , it killed my trans(drive and od anyway)

There are a lot of nitrous accessories you can buy but I think the one you need the most is the window switch. It is not a good idea to spray below 3000rpm.

A dry kit does not trick the MAF into thinking anything. Your thinking of the bottle in a bag kit.The bottle in a bag kit injects nitrous in front of the MAF and the MAF sense' the extra air and tells the computer to add fuel.

A dry kit blocks off the return fuel line which in turn adds fuel pressure to get more fuel into the engine.
On the bottle in a bag kit the fuel pressure stays the same but the pulsewidth of the injector is lengthened.

Not mine. I did the car. At the time of the movie it had our chip, maf, pump, reg and 4.10's w MSD wires.

I have a cheap nitrous kit in the for sale section right now.
