So what you think? All I know is that the mercedes E350 does 6.5 0-60 MPH but can't find its quarter mile. Does anyone know what they will do? I will be getting a Chip soon (LMS chip), so that should give me a chance to keep upi with it off the line.

Those cars are really fast, they have very aggressive tranny gearing (7 speed auto!) and they will do the 1/4 mile in the low 14's. I think your best shot is from a 35mph roll...

nowadays low 14's in the 1/4 mile isnt that fast. I do agree with the 35 mph roll though.

It doesnt matter what day it is. Low 14's are fast.

C class has the same engine as the E350 and it does the 1/4 mile in 14.0 @ 99 mph. Since E350 is 200-300 pounds more then the C, I would expect it to do it in 14.3 - 14.6 @ 96-98 MPH (correct me if I am wrong)
Man V6 are fast now a days. most of the V6 selling now do 0-60 in 6-7 second range, even the new MKZ does it in 6.2 seconds.

I don't know about the E350 but, I drove a an 06 E500 a while ago and that thing was fast, not as fast as the 550i Bimmer though.

Cars have gotten really impressive over the past few years. The Taurus SHO was considered a 4-door hotrod in its day, now it's underpowered compared to most V6 family sedans. Hell, the turbo Subaru Forester does 0-60 in 5.3 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 13.8! That's good enough to edge out most Corvettes if you catch the driver off guard, which in that car you probably would.

I'm just happy that the Mark can more or less keep up nowadays!

The E350 will edge out a stock mark

Which V6 family sedans are you talking about? Accord V6, Camry V6, CTS V6, Chrysler LH (300/charger) V6, Five Hundred, Fusion? An SHO would still burn any one of those today (well a CTS 3.6 would be good competition.) I think you're exagerating just a little bit.

(...says the former SHO driver.)

both the accord and maxima 6 speeds are very low 14 second cars. the SHO is a high 14 second car on a good day. its competition for my 00 5 speed maxima.

Plus the new Camry has a 268hp V6. I haven't seen any figures published yet, but I think it's safe to assume it'll be in line with the Accord and Maxima.

And the Fords & V6 Chryslers are 10+ years behind everyone else in terms of power, so they're not even worth mentioning.

imo low 14's is not that fast. As far as im concerned ur still at first base running 14's. Dont get me wrong it is alright for the markvlll to do that but there are many cars out there that in stock form are running those numbers and they are only little imports. Fast to me is 11 - 12 second 1/4 mile times for a street car.

ford is finally coming out with a 3.5 duratec V6. i think its rated around 265hp.

as usual with fords it will only have a slushbox behind it.

ok guys why are the new V8s even slower then the V6 right now?
The 2005 Cadillac STS runs 14.69 @ 97.70 and its 0-60 is 6.21(from MSN)
The E350 weights 3800 pounds and the Caddy weights 4000 pounds. Why do we even have V8s if they don't make any difference?

You're right the Maxima is pretty quick, I'd forgotten about Nissan. The SE-R & Spec V are about in SHO territory.

What Accord sedan is running low 14s stock now? The V6 with an electric motor attached only manages low 15s. The coupes are a bit quicker.

The Camry finally gets some balls for 07.

The E350 must make really really good use of it's 268hp/258ft.lbs. through it's 7spd. FWIW I haven't found any published 1/4 mile times for either, the E350 should do 0-60 in I've seen 6.5-6.9 seconds, the STS V6 is listed as "under 7" while the N* V8 is listed as "under 6."

The 6-speed manual V6 model that's not loaded down with the batteries, motor, etc.

I haven't seen the 1/4 mile of the E350 too but from what I was guessing, I thought it would be like the acura TLs(14.6-14.8s)
Those times are for a V8 STS.

Did a bit more searching, MT got an 05 n/a Northstar STS to 14.2 @ 97.5 with a 6.0s 0-60.

well I just saw a E350 on the road today and all I can say is, its size is like a toyota corrola. Its heavy for its size too(3800). the features of the car are good like self leveling lights, rain sensing, and healamp washer but the looks of the car are not like a 50K car.
If anyone finds the 1/4 mile of this car, please let me know

Well I also thought why the f_ck would he want to race a cargo van.

well one of my family member just bought the car, and their son(my age) talks crap about american cars. They own all import cars like toyota sequoia, corrola and now this benz. Its not like we were really going to race but just wanted to know. I guess I need a chip and an exhaust.
