New to the forum and just got my first Lincoln (1997 Mark VIII with 120k miles on it)which needs some tlc. Passenger's side imrc plate is stuck open,I tried seafoam in the vacuum line but it was to no avail,so I plan on pulling the intake and cleaning the plates and hopefully this stops it from sticking. Other than that the car was a wreck when I got it,it was hit bad in the quarter, drivers side door, drivers side fender, header panel and bumper. I've pulled and straightened the quarter panel and got the entire front clip for 200$ with hid headlights off of an lsc at a junkyard, but unknowingly didn't realize what they were and didn't grab the ballasts. I plan on repainting the car fairly soon,it is currently silver metallic but I'd like something different maybe a gloss red or the metallic red that Ford sprays the new taurus' with, and maybe a first gen nose or a termi bumper. Performance wise nothing is done yet but there is a wrecked 1999 cobra at my work that's stripped of everything but the rear, motor, trans an I'm considering pulling the heads and intake, not sure if that would bolt on to the teksid block or of there's something else that needs to be done,I'm also planning to grab a posi center section for the irs and some shorter gears down the road. As for me I'm a 22 year old bodyman working at a large dealership in South Jersey, the mark will be my daily driver until I can afford a 300zx tt or a notch. I see that there are a lot of NY clubs for Lincoln's and was wondering if there were any Jersey ones? I'd love to do some cruises and meets this fall if they're within a reasonable distance.

Allot of great Mark VIII guys in the NY/NJ area. After you dive the mark around you will see why we don’t trade our in for your average go fast car. It's unique and we like it. You won’t get much from the 99 cobra engine, except upgraded C heads and intake, but if it is a good price I'd buy it, the diff should be an upgrade though. Post some pictures up over on the Mark VIII page.

Welcome to LVC!!

Pretty sure I can get the heads and intake for free, the car was picked apart by mechanics for the past few years, and nobody paid for anything. My brother had 3 mark VIII's before getting a mustang all lasted over 220k and still ran strong except for one of them that sucked up water and hydrolocked.
