Been battling the issue with a non runner in the garage ('66 Sunbeam Alpine) and my SVT Focus outside under a cover (HOA rules). Without going into a lengthy tome, it's a real pain in the butt. Got a phone call one day from a friend and long story short, look how I solved that problem:

Focus in the garage, big deal right? Look at the rather odd looking hardware above it's windshield.

Then a view from the side. The Sunbeam is no longer in the way.

And from the LS's parking spot.....looks a little weird, but hey, it's in there and it works.

I got it used from a Potomac Garage franchise that shut down. It hadn't seen much use and the under half cost was a steal, as were the included free floor tiles. Anyone that is interested in the lift and can stand the sticker shock of full retail can see the lift at http://hardingsteel.com/carlifts.shtml where a little further looking will reveal it's $10k price as well as lifts (the subterranean variety) that cost $40k. Good stuff, just pricey.

HAA thats awesome! What brand flooring? I want to do a checker board to mine but everywhere I find them there rediculously expensive.

Mine are ribtrax made by Swisstrax in California. The quotes I get from most places (my deal was a bit unique coming with the lift) shows one bay of a garage being 'around' $400. Advantage was that I moved all my garage junk from in between cars, swept, and put them in taking about 2 hours. I have no idea how long it would have taken to do a permanent paint coating. My garage is just too full of parts etc to consider that option. My lift deal included a bit more than enough to do a parking spot so to complete the LS's side of the garage it's only costing me around $300 including the neat little edge 'ramp' pieces. In fact they are due to be delivered tomorrow......anticipation. :)

A shot I took of my Sunbeam as the lift delivery truck rolled up in front of my place. Since the lift is in that very spot now I thought it a unique photo op I'd better take advantage of.....

It's a non runner as I said, but considering just a week earlier it had no brakes and no wheels or tires.....I'm getting there slowly. Note the boring "before" garage floor......
