What would i need to convert my Bolt pattern to the mustang 5x4.50 Bolt Pattern? Ive heard of people doing this but im curious if I need cobra hubs or can i just use regular mustang hubs?

94+ mustang front hubs with ABS
99+ Cobra Rear hubs
should replace your rear bearings while your in there too
might as well do the PBR caliper swap up front while your at it, either GT or Cobra flavors...
I did it, it wasnt too hard

heres a good low down on it..

From a T-Bird thread (FPN prices):

Two of each-
Front Hub 1R3Z-1104-AA > $58.19 ea
Front Hub Retainer F3LY-3B477-A > $8.80 ea
Caliper Banjo bolts (Cobra-R) > $5.69 ea
Dust Cover F3DZ-1N135-A > $3.98 ea

Two of each-
Rear Hub YR3Z-1109-AA > $73.52 ea
Rear Hub Retainer FOSZ-4B477-A > $6.20 ea
Rear Wheel Bearing E9DZ-1215-A > $42.13 ea
Bearing Retainer N803955S > $1.67 ea

Are the rear wheel bearings absolutely necessary? BTW could i use front hubs from an 89 mark VII LSC?

well, how many miles are on your car? its a good investment, then you dont have to do it later when they do go out.. its a good peice of mind..

arent the mark vii's 4bolt wheels?

Nope they are the same Bolt Pattern as all mustangs 94+ My car has 75k but im trying to do this on as small as a budget as possible. I added up the costs for all parts and it rounded out to about 270 something. Some people have said that its such a pain and its not worth it but.....

me? i can when i get it out of the garage... :D which hopefully is soon.. just need to bleed the ABS unit and i SHOULD be good..

I was also wondering what size the stang rotors are compared to the Mark rotors because im not in the mood for a caliper swap.

you will need a 36mm socket for the hub nuts, and a torque wrench that goes to 250ft/lb atleast. save your old nuts off the back of the car, and double nut the rear nuts. they seem to have a tendency to loosen up and back off..
if you do cobra rears, you will have to get (or make) the caliper relocation brackets..
other wise you can get a set of stock ones redrilled for the new pattern...

man all that just to slap on cobra wheels and brake kits. damn now i know what is in store for me when i get around doing this! eeeeekkkk!

Im getting pearl white(same color as my car) 99 cobra wheels. I dont want cobra R's cause ive seen them everywhere. The reason Im doing this is so i can easily get wheels for cheap than what i can get wheels for the stock bolt pattern. BTW i know some people at the dealer so would i be able to get the hubs from the dealer?

yes. the rear hubs have to come from the dealer, so far they are the only ones that have them. the fronts you can find at your local parts store. they are much cheaper there too..

49.88 at checker for the fronts...
i just have 99 GT wheels on my car for now, i like the way they look except for the horse on the centercap.. but my car is grey and so are the wheels, so it looks pretty good IMO

i really like the 99 cobras, i would like a set of 00R's though..
anthracite bullits would look great too..

finally took some pics today.. its started raining after i rolled the car outside, and so its wet.. thats ok, it was REALLY dusty before..

I'm ~$3800 into this conversion so far, and I haven't even started working on it yet.

The $3800 Includes the 13" cobra brake kit from Discbrakesareus, New 18" Wheels, New 245/45/18 Tires, New Cobra front and rear hubs, all new bearings, new nuts, etc. etc. etc.

Most of the brake related stuff isn't even in this picture.

I'm still waiting on the brakes, (I wanted the calipers powdercoated black, with no writing on them), the wheels, and Front Hubs. Mad Max is sending those out Tuesday.

Oh, the beauty of not having to answer to a "War Department". :p

You got a chassis/ differential brace!. Excellent choice, and I know you will be impressed by the cars handling after that! I paid $180 for mine from a friend and it made an awesome difference, especially with those full-throttle 70mph turns... :gr_devil:
