I have a '93 Mark, and have had the buttons cracked since I purchased the thing. I finally bought one (well....another one, because the other one I had did not work at all....wrong model...wiring plugged in, but was not compatible).

The one I purchased is from a '96. I have the schematics for the '95 (which is the same as the '96), but do not have it for the '93. So, I am lookin to see if anyone can post the HVAC schematics from their EVTM manual (DVD, CD, or other) so I can pin out the back of the HVAC controller to make it work for the '93.

If anyone could hook me up....that would be great.....I also need the vacuum connections/colors also, so I can make sure that they go to the same places as well........spanx in advance.

93-95 fit your car --- 96 and up dont fint. they can be made to work with alot of rewiring, but I have been told they still dont work right.....

According to Max the part numbers are completely different and will not work between the 93 and the 94-96. Even the junk yards say the same thing. I already purchased a 96 (which wires the same at the 95), but is totally different than the 93. Since the 93 was the first car....of course it would be wired differently???

I am going to make it work....one way or another.....

Something smells around here...

Is this what you got?

This is EXACTLY what I replaced my '93 unit with. I bought it from Max last fall...

PART NUMBER DESC STK LIST PRICE YOUR COST
F6LZ-19980-AC CONT Y $193.77 $139.51

What's the part number now? I could look in the garage for the box with the old unit and triple check... but I KNOW the '96 unit I got works in my '93.

I have the EVTM at home if you need pics of the wiring. Worse comes to worse I also have the official wiring diagrams. I love wiring diagrams.

EDIT... Maybe you got the 'other' ford one, like from a guy on eBay? They look the same but are not. They are for a Taurus, Sable, Town Car and others I think - but NOT the Mark VIII for some reason. Either way, we can figure it out with the EVTM. Get the part number. If it's F6LZ-19980-AC - plug and play! :steering:

That's correct, the Gen2 EATC looks the same as the '96 but do not work! That may be the 'other' Ford one I was talking about as well. FWIW I don't know what other applications the oem '93 EATC would interchange with... probably because no one wants them?

Meanwhile...

These are valid for '93

Does anyone have a drawing or schematic of vacuum ports assignment on EATC module back side vacuum connector - i.e. which port corresponds to which color of vacuum hose?

I put a '96 model EATC in my '93, and it worked just fine.

Did you actually start the car to test it out? The vacuum system (which controls whether the air comes from the panel/floor/defogger vents) won't work without the engine running.
