I promise to nicer if you promise to be smarter.
This morning, to see what we can do on a set of headers. The guy at Kooks told me that Bill Evanoff (with SCP) is the SOLE distributor of the headers.

PLEASE TELL ME IT AIN'T SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From what kooks people told me, he owns the rights. Either way...

Let's se who else would be interested in making headers. How about Heddman Hedders?

There is nothing wrong with kooks headers, I love mine and the car sounds amazing. sometimes a lil rasppy but don't most headers do that? also it is a lil bit pricey but 700 isn't crazy considering the ouality you get. Everything about my kooks headers were outstanding like the welds and the powder coating. my friend bought some mustang headers off of e-bay and they were built like total crap. Inside the collector looked like crap compared to mine and trhe welds... lol forget about them.

I guess to sum all of this up you get what you pay for and kooks makes great products.

Also just so you know I am 99% positive that kooks actually makes the headers for scp. bill just tells them how many to make, he does not actually make them where he is at. kooks is located on Long Island, about 20 minutes from me. I had to bring my header back for the egr fitting and the guy there told me that.

Yes, kooks does make the headers for Bill Evanoff at their facility. He paid to have the distributorship rights for the whole country. I think that's wrong, but that's just me.

I didn't say there is anythign wrong with kooks, but they are the only players on town, and Bill E. is the only one selling them. And SInce I don't like Bill Evanoff, I am trying to find another header manufacturer. I do not wish to buy some cheapies ff ebay, either.

Headers

ThenI am sure you are aware of A.R. T. offers them as well, its just that his deliveries are random, and that he produces only long tubes.

I'm in Canada. does he own the distribution rights for Canada as well? Want me to talk to them?

the only issue i could see with having them sent to me in canada is that you guys would have to pay tax and duty at the border, and that might make the cost of the headers unrealistic.

of course if i could get them shipped to the US and billed to Canada, that might be a whole different story.

67, you could have them dropshipped to us, I would think.

As far as Bill Evanoff, Well... I'm sure he's a nice guy and all (not), but they guy stiffed me out of $2100 on a tranny for my Supercoupe. By "Stiffed" I mean I told him what I wanted, and he had Art Carr build the tranny the way HE wanted it built. I don't know about you sir, but when you spend money on something that's supposed to be a custom build, and you want it done your way, well then by god, you should get it your way.

I had to replace the torque converter on that transmission because the stall speed was so great, I was driving around on the freeway at almost 3300rpm at 75mph, and TWO 18000lb gvwr Stacked Plate coolers could not keep the tranny cool!

The car should have stalled at 2200rpm, not 3300. Yes, he was aware of the modifications I had made to the engine.

I had to spend another... $1400??? IIRC? that included a new Custom done MY WAY converter, and R&R for the tranny.

When I called him and told him, he didn't have much to say about the whole thing. He told me that others have ordered the same unit, and were happy with it. Right. I don't know how anyone could be happy driving on the freeway turning an extra 1100 RPM and cooking their transmissions.

So as you can see sir, I don't have a lot of "love" for the guy, and I will make and have made all of my purchases from other suppliers. Bill Evanoff thinks he's the only game in town when it comes to Supercoupes. He isn't. All the stuff he sells, someone sold him. I do directly to the manufacturer, or another distributor. In the case with the headers, you have to see how he cornered and is monopolizing the Mark VIII header market. He is a whiny little man who screwed me over on a transmission. There will soon be an alternative, Mr. Evanoff.

Oh, btw, I am talking to a header manufacturer about making headers for us. I wont know for sure until october. Because of the racing season, they are backed up
