My drivers seat will not go all the way back. I went outside to go somewhere and hit the unlock button on the key fob and the seat started moving foward i opened the door and stopped it from moving foward and tried to use the seat controls to get it all the way back and it it will not go back but a little bit none of the seat controls work now. How do i fix this.

i have a 1995 Mark VIII

No movement in any direction including recline?

First, does the car start and run? Is there good voltage? If so I would check the fuse. I am not sure which one it is on a first gen but I am sure someone will chime in soon.

There is no movement in any way using the seat controls , i checked the fuse and it is a big silver looking fuse. when i put the back part of the seat foward it will move and when i put the back part of the seat back it will move back a little but that is it and yes it will start and run.

Uh, I am at a loss.

Big silver fuse... should just be a standard automotive blade fuse. Anyway if the seat moves with the autoglide but not the switch then it sounds to me like a bad seat switch. Also I would shut off the autoglide. It just wears the motors out and our seats are getting old.

Just start the car and let it get a good solid charge on the battery. Then when not sitting on the seat try the controlls and get it to where you want.

Big silver fuse i learned is a 20amp circut breaker. How do i shut off the auto glide ? I will try what you suggest as soon as i rest a bit.

i agree..I turned off my autoglide and and easy entry(Whatever options that make the seats and wheel move automaticly) ect so that my drivers side seat track doesnt wear out. I'd hate for my seat to move forward and not move back.. I'm not about to spend over 150 to get a new one. I also unplugged the motors for my telescopic wheel. Set them and forget em'.

I tried everything again no success, then i looked under the seat and noticed a loose plug, plugged it back in and everything works now THANK GOODNESS :D . Thanks Laser and Frogman for the advice.

Pepp, get that seat where you want it and go back and unplug the seat and you'll never have to worry about that happening again. I'm sure you don't haul people around with you, do you? If so, leave it plugged up. Something just don't sound right about it coming unplugged on it's own. That's why I suggested getting it where you like it and then unplug.

I just might do that sometime tomorrow morning. :D

I have my driver seat like that because I don't ride anyone in the back. I might have someone back there once every 6 months. When I get in, it's where I want it. Another reason is because my seats came out of my black 94 and it has a weak motor. I haven't taken the good motor and put it in yet. It's the motor that moves the seat back and forth. Anyway, glad it was a simple fix for you. :)

i have my autoglide and easy entry shut off, i'm saving the track and the column!!

I would have done that jamie but i tried and couldn't do it through the message center, you and Frogman have Gen2's. :D

Huh, loose connection was a thought I had but didnt say it cause I knew Kid put it all back together and figured he would have really made sure it was on tight.
Time constraints FTMFL!
