We are looking for some fun Ideas for Midwest Local meets.
I've been searching the Midwest area for tracks to either run our cars for time slips or just have fun watching races.
What I've been throwing around in my head is to find a Midwest race track either for Stock or Drag racing (my idea local stuff not national races that may cost too much or make the meet costly).
Hear is my more of the idea. I don't know how many of you like camping but I know many of you do camp. I thought we could find a campground within a few mile of the track and get a few sights or a group site. Those who want to camp can come and camp. We could do the fire thing and have a great time around the campfire. Others could stay at area motels and hang out with the rest. Detail will follow once we know what, where and when.
I'm thinking of June or July for this.
Right Now I want imput from the membership - what do you think and who would be willing to come. Also how far are you willing to travel for something like this.
I do have a cousin who races indy style cars at Road America in Wisconsin http://www.roadamerica.com/2004/media/ I might be able to get us in the pit crew as the crew is my uncle and 2 cusins. Or at least we could maybe get close to the track. He races in a circuit which includes a track in IL and MN.
I found this track near Fort Wayne IN. http://www.shadybowl.com/
This one near Kalmazoo MI - http://www.us131motorsportspark.com/Default.asp
There is also http://www.glsseries.com/ for go cart racing.

Post your thoughts and Ideas and Dave and I will get the ball rolling.
