SO not to beat this to a dead horse... But I got to thinking, the whole thing with the windows feature being operated from the key fob and drivers key cylinder.

We can open the windows from the key fob.

we can open AND close them from the door cylinder

So it tells me the technology is there to both open AND close them I wonder why the feature was not added to the key fob to close them. Say hold down the lock button for 4 seconds and they all roll down.

Seems there would be a way to include that function without TOO much of a problem unless it is the number of channels the OEM Key fob can have.

Thoughts? :Beer

:I , but its probably for SAFETY.
what if someone had there hand out the window & you rolled them up without looking, or accidentally did it.

theres a reason for the madness. :dancefool

Yeah, prob to protect Ford's a$$ but there are companies who make sunroofs which automatically close. If everone was not so sue happy this would much better place! Prob the same reason my heated seats only stay on 10 min b/c somone sued they got burnt! argue2

Okay so maybe thats why they DIDN'T do it..

But now, how do WE change that!?

my sunroof automatically closes. well, like 10 seconds after i shut the car off, the suroof closes whether its popped up or its open... personally, i love the feature, cuz half the time, i forget to close it myself.... and i dont wanna come back to my car with birdshlt on my seat...or worse, my cds stolen out of my car!

But thats not an OEM roof... Correct?

It's definately a CYA for product liability concerns. After the Firestone/Explorer rape, can you really blame FoMoCo?

Sure I understand WHY... Im just thinkn' there is a way to MAKE it work...

on my pontiac, the sunroof had a button which can be turned on which allows the roof to close by itself when engine is turned off.
my brother's jeep also does that as well.
It really is a nice feature in case you forget to close it and it rains!
Must have option in puget sound.
I keep my car in the garage (home and work) so when I do forget it's no big deal.
