Ok Ok so my hubby has been on here for awhile. I am the one whom while on vacation for 7 days stood by her hubb'ys side at the junkyard for days on end while he was like a kid in a candy store pulling car parts off of Lincoln's. I also for his birthday that same week spent an entire day at a tint shop while they tinted his Lincoln Mark VIII as my birthday gift to him. Lemme see now.....what else....oh yeah.....while we were at our timeshare during the same said vacation I spent hours on end watching and helping him under the building's garage til after 11 pm while he changed out the sunroof! It was a non stop Car parts/junkyard vacation. Hubby posted all this in one of the forums and someone said I am a keeper! I am not much of a shopper nor high maintenance kind of person just a simple lady. I do know my husband has always stood at my side and been there for me and he is on these forums a lot reading the posts learning more info , picking up laughs at some of the comments and has fun. I know you are all probably thinking is she crazy "get this woman out of the forum" ! Well guess where my hubby is now? At the junkyard buying some heated seats for his Lincoln Mark VIII. I could not go with him because I am puppy sitting our son's 6 wk old Husky! The reason I joined the forum was because I love him and if I can't beat him join him! Dang Lincoln addict!!!Oh yeah I keep hearing those infamous words"this is last part I gotta buy!" Hah he went and got a complete parts car! LOL Every one thanks for keepin him busy on here and all the help. Ps yes I have a Lincoln too but mine is a 2000 LS his is the MarkIII waaaa ...it's ok I still got a v8! And No I just got mine a few months ago and we have not raced side by side yet! Think you know who would win!
Again can't beat em join him. Love u hunny! PS HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL AND GOD BLESS

Good woman

Good for you.You need to get a mark 8 so the time you spend in the junkyards can be even more meaningful.Just think of it this way let him do the driving to the yards and when you get there jump out and run into the place yelling at the top of your lungs"DIBBS".Hell of a game.

welcome and hopefully you get as addicted as your hubby my wife likes the Chevy's
so we argue a lot but its all fun

uh-oh, we're caught! lol.

Welcome. You sound a lot like my wife. She's not real fond of my cars, but if I need her help, she's right there beside me, holding a wrench or supporting the weight of my exhaust, or whatever else I need. I've many times used the "this is the last part I need" line and always there's more. Just yesterday, I bought a wheelbarrow full of stuff at the junkyard and am going back on Saturday. lol. I can't help it.

Do you have a sister?

welcome to the forum. thats awesome you are that cool about it, my wife is such a keep she is on her 4th mark VIII. i bought all of them for her, between me and her we have had 12 so far since 2003! you think we are crack heads about it too!!! thats ok, keeps me out of trouble my wife is real good to me too so i have nothing to complain about. just her putting up with me is more than enough! happy thanksgiving, tell your hubby to buy you some flowers!

Flowers suck...wrenches are shiney!

....and far as the LS...sell it, buy Mark

and as long as you own a car, any car, it'll never be "the last part"

Pfft... flowers?

By her a set of wrenches. LOL :D

Ps he does not need to buy me tools ha ha. Years ago he got tired of me borrowing his tools and would always say " I lost them, broke them etc" One year he even said I left his tools on the porch and someone stole them. Years later his dad who lives next door to us found his set of tools for him in his dad's boat ha haha ha! I even have my own power tools. Ummm geuss whoose tools he is always askin to borrow since I keep them so handy??? Yeah I had to get a Lincoln LS vs one like his MarkVIII because I needed the four doors! PS when I met my husband he had a 83 Lincoln Mark VI the night I met him and I can tell you stories about that pimp mobile hehhehehe. And as for those that asked if I have a sister they are all taken. As for flowers I will pass - they wilt now tools get a lube job!!!! LOL Sorry couldn't resist. Thanks for all the repleis I enjoyed. And no I truly am just as much an enthusiast as my hubby!!!!

PS hubby's had called the junkyard yesterday about those heated seats for his MarkVIII and they had them. When he went to get them what a disaster. Lets just say an employee shouldbbe fired. He said along the lines somethin like this .....Someone used a rope in the inside to pull a part and did some major damage of some kind and the employess put a used car ontop of the lincoln damaging the seats etc so he was heartbroke. And we have not quite made it to the 12 lincoln mark but we do have a yard full of them and 2 Ford Galaxies and a Torino! AT least now my hubby is all grown up and has learned to stop wrecking cars ha ha.

Common for yards to double stack cars, I've seen em piled 3 high in some places. Seats don't bring much cash, so yards don't mind the colateral damages like interiors and windows
that sucks tho, I found a 93 with a blue enterior in mint condition, i was taking the kmember out and a border jumper was helping cut it loose, he dropped the strut from it and throw it through the front windshield and tore the driver side seat. I was so mad, but the yard won't do anything about it

Great story's, Lucky husband, Got any pictures? PS I agree with someone elses advice here, get a Mark also it would make it all more worth while. You can still find clean low miles Marks.

That's kinda morbid...there's something a little off about you

I love the Mark VIII and my Lincoln LS I know it is a wimpthe LS. Right after I got my LS I quickly learned the nightmarish horrors of what may lay ahead. Found out after that the dealer is only going back five years on car parts anymore. They don't bother telling people to go to www .greensalescompany.com. I am sure you all know this already but just in case....... for the Mark VIII find you a spare gas tank NOW while you can and if you don't find one u can get it at greensalescompany . Also the brake line on the MarkVIII is hard to find at the junk yards and most shops refuse to fix it do due the laws. SO grab one of those too! Also when we got the MarkVIII pats car a guy gave me a good tip. We all know how those paint jobs are with the seal coats eroding away. 3m, turtle wax(which I hate) and a few other brands have some great black WAX that you use with a high speed buffer and polish those bad spots out. It saves a lot of money on painting and all u have to do is a lil seal coat on the spots when done. We tried a small section on the car and it works awesome!!! Also I hate the fact that the tire companies rigged the system.! 15's and 16's are obsolete. So now I have to change out the rims and tires eventually on the Ls. Will get some pics posted of the cars soon. The pimp mobile is outback rusting away , the galaxy is his baby and I was allowed to drive it ONCE!!!! Of course his MarkVIII too. UMMM he will get me for this one but anyone want a back yard full of Lincoln's that need restoring and some repair or for parts? HA HA And yes I agree with you Sapperfire - Topher51 's comment "if we get enough significant others to join we can open a new section on here "Lincoln Widows" is very morbid. Hey Topher least we remind u us women gave birth to u men what giveth we can taketh ha ha. I meant that in a nice way not sarcastic! PS it is black Friday I am at home on here .....missing shopping but my hubby.....ummm he is with his dad today doing u know what!!!! Thanks for all the new member welcomes and all and keep up laughs all work and play is all good! Only live once so make it enjoyable. PEACE OUT
