Today my Mark wont turn over. When I turn the key to the ACC position, the engine starts to turn over, and keeps turning over and over. There has always been play in the ignition for as long as I had it. What is this a sign of? Does this mean new key ignition? If so, How do I keep the same key?

It's not firing or it's not turning?

And if you need to replace the ignition, you can have a locksmith key it to match your door locks.

Acc. position?? That's pretty strange, mine allways wants to turn the fan on when I go from run to off...

It is firing, but not turning over.

I'm confused here.

Usually when someone says the engine is turning over, they mean that the starter is cranking the engine, but the engine is not starting.

And usually when someone says the engine fires, they mean that the engine starts.

Is your engine cranking but not starting?

yeah,i am confused too, wtf are you trying to say?

ii want to help ,but that is confusing.

check your fuel pressure? maybe that is the problem? all i can think is probably the crank sensor. last year i had something similar happen to me, but i had a 180 amp alternator that ate itself causing and over charge to my electrical system and my SCT chip to lose all its programing. it took me a good 3-4 days to figure out what the problem was. i removed the SCT chip car started right up, put the chip back it all she did was crank and crank. but i highly doubt that is your problem though!

Well it could be firing and not starting, but I can't imagine it firing without turning over???
I would suspect fuel delivery if it won't stay running, but with all the computerization on these things...

i just remembered something that you could try. check the fuel pump relay. also check all relays and fuses as well. maybe something is f'ed up there?

I'd check the easy things first.

I'd try resetting the inertia fuel shutoff switch in the trunk.

Then I'd check the fuses.

Then, if I thought it might be a crank position sensor, I'd disconnect it and then reconnect it, and see if it starts then. I've heard that this is a good way to tell if the sensor or wires to the sensor are bad.

Well, I found out my problem. I fried some portion of my ignition wires. I don't know exactly where the short is now. There was smoke coming out from under the steering wheel. I believe my remote start alarm fuse didn't pop, and it became melted in the fuse holder. Major electrical work. I am thinking of taking it to my mechanic to fix, and I am thinking of parting her out in favor of a 98. Damn after I just did that Mark Makeover.

I am trying to decide if it will be worth it to pinpoint the problem, or to gut her out and make as much as I can for the parts and get a 98 LSC
