im Considerig to get a 97-98 Mark Viii LSC,I want to know what should i look for, also what are the little problems related to this vehicle.

Number one lmake sure it will start LOL :joke

Look for leaking air ride bags.. Make sure the air ride is working...

Tranny shifts smooth.. No real hard 1 to 2...

On gen II's make sure that the heat and AC work properly as they have blend door arm issues. Make sure that the rear neon also works. Check to make sure that the HID's are working properly as the bulbs are pricey. 97's need the 1-2 accumulator piston and springs replaced, 98's do not (have the new parts).

Is it fair to say that gen 2's are not as reliable as gen 1's? thats what I think.

They just have even more crap that can break. I prefer my gen I.

I'd recommend Gen-I over Gen-II, although my experience is limited with the Gen-I. However, the G-I's are aging and may have much higher mileage than you'd want. You also may have a harder time financing through a bank if you're going that route. I'd especially recommend them for a 5.4 buildup :gr_devil:

For something more reliable with a powerful motor, decent options, and a badass look, consider the Mercury Marauder. Once I get my hands on some money and pay-off my education debt, I'll be parking one in my driveway...

Yeah I like the Marauder too, I just have not had alot of problems with my 94 Mark 8 mostly minor crap and it has 135000 miles on it.I love my gen 1!! I got a good one that runs great!! :Beer

Marauder is an awesome looking car(and yes it on my list). I like the mark viii because of the coupe styling and the powerfull engine.you can get a mark viii for less money than a 1998 mustag and yet you have a more powerfull car and rides better too. If i get a good paying job(dont know when that will happen) i would like to buy a Cammer engine and stick it in this car.a Smoking car disguised as a luxury vehicle that has an appetite for rice YUM!
