hey guys first off i wanna say this is a great forum,ok so my problem is this my emission light came on. brought to a good reputable shop, my car was under warranty so they change a bunch of other stuff not dealing with the emissions, ok so he told me i needed a new cat and i sorta figured that there was a lot of knocking under the driver side of the car, car was also very shakey and so on
ok so here is where the confusion comes in i was getting like 23mpg on highway with the bad cat,now with the new cat im only getting like 16mpg its burning gas like u wouldnt believe.now after i got my car back i drove it around and then the emission light came back on i noticed at that point the lowered mpg i brought it back to the shop they said that the 02 sensor they replaced failed.they fixed that issue i assume
Ive driven the car maybe 1000 miles since getting my car back and its still sucking down gas like crazy but there is no emissions light or any light on for that fact. i dropped my car to the shop today they had my car all day driving it around and they said they ran some test to see if my gas was being burned properly everything passed,they said o2 sensors working correctly.
what could be causing my car to consume so much gas, between gas prices and driving roughly about 90 miles a day i need this fixed. Thx guys for all of your help. i have off all of this week so i wanna fix what i can while i have the time off thx
