A few searches tells me they ditched the intake manifold runner control setup for C-head engines. My 2000 obviously has the "wad of snakes" intake manifold so what is doing the switchover function now? Or are the runners now at some fixed ratio rather than adjustable?

There is no switchover function.
One intake port feeds two intake valves.
Tumble-style intake ports,fixed runner-length intake manifold.
