Hey LVC, I have a quick question! I posted it in a new thread because I know it will get more attention and hopefully more opinions if it is by itself!!!

Well I am going to take my intake back off because I am trying to track down a leak in the cooling system!!! My main question is can I reuse the intake and IMRC gaskets? I they have only been on the engine for about two or three weeks and only one week while it has ran!!! I am hearing a hissing sound coming from underneath the intake so I have to take it off!!! But I DO not have the cash to buy new gaskets!! I think I have read somewhere that it is possible but not recommended to reuse them!!

I would like some opinions on this because I am headed outside to take it off right now! I will be checking in periodically to see what I have generated here!

You can reuse them but I wouldn't advise it. I have a nasty vacuum leak right now and I think it's one of the gaskets.

You can or you can't??? If you can't than that is cool! But, if you can than why would'nt you recommend it! That kinda means you can't in your opinion! I don't know, I'm just wondering if anyone has taken their intake off and put it right back on with the same gaskets before? Especially if they were just about brand new? Anyone with experience in this please let me know your results!! Thanks!!! Thanks for the opinion 98LSC

when i powder coated my intake on my old 98 i took it off, powder coated it and stuck it back on with 11 year old gaskets and never had a single issue, i am not saying to do it, but i did. i also did this on a members car here recently now i'm the biggest piece of :q:q:q:q walking the earth so use your judgement, if they are new gaskets i wouldnt worry about it.

It may or may not work out for you. Visually inspect them and make a decision.

That is what I was looking for, Thanks Jamie

That's what I will do! I think it should be ok, because when I put them on I made sure to go straight down with the intake and IMRC's so that I would'nt slide them in any kind of way and keep them flat as possible!! Thanks though
