Inexpensive bypass to rear air bags

Tried the inexpensive airbag fix that was sent to me. As you can see from the car, the hind end is still on the ground.

As a side note, what you said, was inside the trunk area. But the lines, I cut are in the engine area. Filled with air but nothing happened. See pictures below.

Now what? :shifty: I used the air at a gas station, so, plenty of air was going inside.

Here's what you do. Call Car Quest and tell the person to look in their shocks book for the replace kit for air bag lines.

Stick floor jack under rear end of car.
Put jack stands under car.
climb, upside down with flash light.
Find left or right rear shock.
Shine light at same.
Fine little plastic hose coming out of shock.
Follow it back to where it joins with line from other shock.
Using sissors, cut feed line.
Cut little peice off and take to car parts store.
Buy more line. Buy schreader valve.
Buy needed brass fittings ( that fit plastic line ).
Install S. valve in convieneint location for you.
Add 30 psi air to valve and watch the air shocks raise.
just like filling up a flat tire.. so easy a cave man can do it !!

you need to tell the computer to open the solenoids someplace. if you have an error light on the dash, the computer has given up on opening the solenoids, and will not let air into the struts. and each rear strut has its own air line from the dryer, and each has its own solenoid.

installation of a schrader valve is common on these cars, but most people put it in the dryer assy.

Note: it will take 80 psi or more to raise the rear to ride height, these are NOT air shocks, but full air STRUTS, where the air bladder completely replaces the coil springs found on other cars.

the fronts will take 100 psi or more to raise to ride height.
